About Excel Editor Online
Excel Editor Online is a free spreadsheet editor at exceleditoronline.com. It lets you open, edit and save Excel workbooks and CSV files directly in your web browser, on a computer or a phone, without installing software or creating an account.
Why we built it
Most of the time you don’t need a full office suite. You need to fix a figure in an attachment, tidy up a CSV export or check a total before sending a file on. We built Excel Editor Online for those moments: open the page, make the change, download the result.
How it works
Everything happens on your device. When you open a file, your browser reads it and the editor shows it in a grid. Formulas are calculated by an engine that runs in the page, and when you download, the new file is created in your browser too. Your spreadsheet is never uploaded to us.
The editor supports more than 150 Excel functions, cell formatting, merged cells, frozen panes, sorting and filtering, find and replace, and multiple sheets. You can save your work as an .xlsx workbook or export a sheet as CSV.
What it is good for
- Quick edits on the go, from any device with a modern browser
- Reviewing a spreadsheet someone sent you and saving your own copy
- Cleaning up, sorting and filtering CSV exports from other tools
It is not a replacement for desktop Excel when you rely on macros, charts, pivot tables or conditional formatting. Those features are not supported, so keep your original file when you edit a complex workbook.
